This is a scenario which took place few days ago with one of my friends. He wanted to go to Nagpur from Mumbai from LTT station.
Since he didn’t have reserved ticket so he decided to go to LTT and get a current ticket from Current reservation counter. So, he went to counter no.6A at around 6.20pm to get a current ticket, the current window staff on duty at that time denied from the availability of any ticket available for current ticket. So, he left the counter and very next moment a person (Agent) came to him and offered a reserved ticket to him on his name in the same train in which he wanted to travel. However, to his utter shock and surprise, when that person (Agent) went to the same counter and asked for a ticket from LTT to Nagpur, the same staff gave the ticket him, the only difference was that the ticket which was of Rs.1300, my friend has to pay Rs.3000. The same thing has happened with one of the co passengers of my friend.
Now, here I would like to know, why there is a concept of Current Reservation when people can’t get it in normal price when they need it in emergency?
How that person (Agent) did got the ticket from the same counter but my friend didn’t get it?
Is this the way to earn an extra amount by the railway? Who is keeping an eye on these kinds of mis-happenings?
If a person has some emergency and this concept of current doesn’t work for him, but an Agent can get a ticket from the same counter and we had to buy it with almost triple the actual cost, why?
Dear Mr.PM, did you ever noticed this issue of your country people?
